Onslow County Relay for Life Event RULES

  • THE TEAM OBJECTIVE is to have at least ONE PERSON on the track throughout the ENTIRE event AFTER the Survivors’ Victory Lap has been fully COMPLETED. The reason being is that people battle cancer 24 hours a day, regardless of weather, mood or attitude! The Relay for Life is the symbol of their struggles & victories

  • All functions (parking, ticket sales, etcetera) will stop at 5:45pm in preparation for the Opening Ceremonies. All teams are asked to have their site ready for judging by this time. Winners of TEAM SITE & SPIRIT contests will be presented at the Closing Ceremonies.

  • No WHEELS of any kind except as noted below**. (including, but not limited to, skates, skate boards, bicycles or roller blades)

  • PLEASE, no PETS of ANY KIND
  • No generators
  • No pig cookers permitted on FIELD
  • NO access to school for any reason
  • No one permitted on the in-field between the hours of 11pm, Friday, April 27th and 6am on Saturday, April 28th.
  • The event is rain or shine.  In the event of hazardous &/or threatening weather (i.e.-lightning, tornado, etcetera), you will be instructed to LEAVE THE SITE & seek shelter in your vehicle or your home. The school will not be open. You may return when the weather subsides.  You may also call 910-546-2855 for further instructions.
  • Any perishable item must be sold via ticket.  Cash may not be exchanged as this will be considered a strict health code violation.  Tickets will be on sale at the concession stand for 50 cents each.  Please “price” your items accordingly. ($1.00 = 2 tickets)
  • Any team that begins to break down their site PRIOR to the completion of the CLOSING CEREMONY will be DISQUALIFIED from any & all team PRIZES & AWARDS.
     

    THIS IS AN ALCOHOL, DRUG, SMOKE & WEAPON FREE EVENT.

    **Wheelchairs, strollers & small wagons permissible**
